Introducing Quantum Medicine

This is a working document intended to break the ground and start to set out what Quantum Medicine is, how it can be used and applied to transform our current medical models and systems from reactional, short-term, pharmaceutical and symptom based treatments to proactive, preventative, responsive, present, sustainable and holistic therapies that deal with core issues. This concept is by no means established or fixed; it is simply a starting place for the creation of a more functional wellness based healthcare service for all inhabitants of this planet.

The Theory:

“Quantum theory” is the theoretical basis of modern physics that explains the nature and behaviour of matter and energy on the atomic and subatomic level. In ‘The Copenhagen Interpretation’, Bohr is basically saying that nothing is real unless it is observed. An observation is only valid in the context of the experiment in which it was performed. If you want to say that something behaves a certain way or even exists, you must give the context of this behaviour or existence since, in another context, it may behave differently or not exist at all.

Quantum Medicine is a wellness-based approach to healing that is underpinned by the understanding of the nature and behaviour of physical (matter) and energetic influences on human beings at the level of the ‘mind’ and at the cellular level, which result in experiences of either ease or dis-ease.

Quantum Medicine does not use diagnosis as its basis for treatment, as it responds to what is observed in each, unique individual case, rather than the grouping together of symptoms, some of which may or may not be relevant. Quantum Medicine describes observed experiences in the context of an individual’s existence and environment. For example, instead of saying someone has diabetes or schizophrenia Quantum Medicine will seek to understand the physical and energetic impact of environmental signals (diet, perceptions, emotions, current physiology etc.) upon the physical and emotional body, and then it will offer solutions to remedy the observed behaviour through mediating a more healthy and productive environment. Thus negating any need for diagnosis as a solution has been isolated and enacted.

“Quantum healing is the metaphysical claim that the mind can heal the body.”

Deepak Chopra says ‘Quantum Healing looks past all the wonder drugs and modern technology to a natural way of healing which speaks to an integration of mind and body’. The body converts our experiences into natural drugs at the molecular level. ‘The body is the end product of intelligence, and how that intelligence shapes our reality will shape the reality of the body. The body is a field of ideas, and it is a field of interpretations. When you change your experience of your own identity to a spiritual being, the body expresses the physical manifestation of that spiritual reality’.

The Biology of Belief and Neuroplasticity are the science that now shows us how Quantum Healing is reality in the language of modern medicine.

The Basis of Quantum Medicine:

Quantum Medicine is not a new idea; it is the culmination of many bright minds and their research, discoveries and theories that has evolved out of humanity’s time on this planet. It brings together science and spirituality to form a dualistic approach to healing that can achieve what modern medicine to date has failed to do, it creates a complete and holistic healing concept without side effects or the creation of sub-illnesses. It is not about the localisation of illness, but moreover about living in harmony with ones’ environment. It is also about believing that love facilitates, promotes and generates healing on all levels of being.

Quantum Medicine is based on the concept (as described by Bruce Lipton) that our environment (be it the environment of our mind - i.e. our thoughts - or the external world around us) sends signals to the cells that make up our bodies and these signals stimulate a response on that cellular level, which then in turn creates new behaviours that result in new physical and emotional experiences. Thus, based on this premise, by altering the environment we can alter our life, health, and wellbeing. Utilising the discoveries of Neuroplasticity that the brain is plastic and capable of change we can therefore deduce if our cells have programmed themselves to generate certain responses to certain environmental triggers/events/signals, and this in turn creates dis-ease (be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual), then the brain and the cells can be reprogrammed on a neural level to create a different cellular/behavioural response, which in turn creates an alternative outcome and experience, physically and emotionally.

Quantum Medicine is not a fixed model of medicine; it is dynamic and ever changing, mirroring the human state of consciousness and physicality. Quantum Medicine is essentially uniting and combining the most successful, valid and viable medical practices to offer humans a complete vision of healing: one that can fluctuate, adapt and respect individual differences whilst being able to meet the challenge of treating anyone and their dis-ease.

Quantum Medicine draws on (and is not limited to or by) the following theories, systems and treatment modalities (this list is not meant to be exhaustive, simply a beginning):

  • Quantum Healing by Deepak Chopra
  • The emotional basis of physical illness by Louise Hay
  • The biology of belief by Bruce Lipton
  • The brain that changes itself by Dr Norman Doidge
  • The work of James Redfield, Eckhart Tolle, Bryon Katie
  • The works of Jung, Freud, Glasser & other psychological contributors
  • The dynamic neural retraining system, Annie Hopper
  • Existence & Intimacy Medicine
  • Acupuncture & Acutonics
  • Homeopathy & Naturopathy
  • Chinese & other Herbal Medicine
  • Osteopathy & Chiropractic healing
  • Massage therapy, visceral therapy
  • Ayurvedic medicine
  • Tantra
  • Western and Eastern medical science
  • The Forensic Healing System
  • Energy Psychology, including EFT, Reiki, Seichem, Prana, Radionics, Theta Healing
  • Law of Attraction – Esther & Jerry Hicks
  • Clinical Hypnosis
  • Mindfulness, Osho, Zen, Buddhism
  • Intuitive & psychic healing

It is possible for any theory or treatment that has been shown to be effective to become part of Quantum Medicine, as the field is not fixed (it does not believe it has all the answers), but rather it is ever expansive, always seeking to grow, challenge and change itself in order to be more responsive and more capable of assisting human beings achieve greater levels of consistent wellness.

Quantum Physicians are essentially Integrative Therapists who have chosen certain specific pathways and disciplines of healing, as well studying the core subjects, (e.g. biology of belief, neuroplasticity, anatomy, energetic healing, psychology, intimacy medicine, spiritual healing, etc.) to offer people accurate, loving and compassionate assessments of their current dis-ease and propose a variety of modalities for healing, some of which they will provide directly, others through appropriate referral.

Quantum Medicine Recognises that:

  • Love is vital, central and key to all healing.
  • Human beings exist on a physical, psychological/mental, emotional, and spiritual level.
  • All therapeutic forms of treatment have some validity, and there are as many avenues of treatment as there are people with problems.
  • Both energetic matter and physical matter can impact our emotional and physical experiences, and the interplay between the two can generate cellular responses.
  • The individual has a singularly unique experience, but there are key common features, underlying causes and steps to creating/improving/assimilating an experience.
  • The value and impact of language on a human’s physical and emotional condition are significant and a valuable avenue of healing to be explored and addressed.
  • The use of energy healing is as important as matter healing.
  • Intimacy touch and breath are central to the healing process, as well as being vehicles for healing.
  • People’s energy can be understood and interpreted through extra sensory perception.
  • There is a universal language we can learn to interpret and use to improve our life, be connected with our path, increase equilibrium, which is called psychic awareness.
  • Jung’s and modern spiritualist’s (like James Redfield’s) concept of synchronicity and a collective consciousness, impact on population and community healing, and keep everyone healthy, balanced and energetically vibrating at a higher level.
  • There is an energetic as well as physical location for dis-ease.
  • Energy is at the core of us, that we are beings of energy, therefore we must heal on the energetic as well as physical level to ensure problems do not repeat or return.
  • Physical illness starts as an energetic illness and can be cured at the energetic stage before becoming physical.
  • Prevention is better than cure, and much work is done with the aim of ensuring sickness never evolves, merely passes through a person.
  • All things are simultaneously contained – joy, pain, happiness, and sadness, e.g. “it feels so good it hurts”. Thus we can choose what to focus our energy on at any given moment and part of medical healing is to teach this.
  • Energetic maintenance is as important as personal hygiene, and creating and maintaining a positive energetic environment is as important as a physically clean environment.
  • Even the smallest factor (quantum), matter or energy, can impact our wellbeing.
  • Preventative care is at Quantum Medicine’s core through diet, exercise, sleep, meditation, mental self-care, etc.
  • The brain perceives and adjusts its biology accordingly, thus perceptions power our experience.
  • That using all techniques for healing is vital, and surgery and pharmaceuticals are a last resort, and then only to be used in collaboration with energetic treatments.
  • Physical and energetic influences exert equal influences on our wellbeing.
  • Humans are like an antenna, giving and receiving signals: if a human emits energy (a signal) in response to a received signal, i.e. believing something is missing, (for example,  a person receives a signal that they do not have good health and then sends out that energy to the body and the world that they do not have good health), then the energy of the person will not expand or change into the energy of having what they are wanting (in this case they want good health), but because they are focusing on its absence, not its presence therefore they keep compounding the fact they do not have it, staying stuck in that energy, (they are sending out an energy of “I am sick, I have bad health” and so they remain sick).
  • Both the receptive and given signals must be aligned (which means the thought and actual environment must be aligned) in order for the person to expand with the energy of the universe and have what is wished for, otherwise the person will experience only what is missing (and focusing on).
  • Educating people on why and how they have become dis-eased, how they can help themselves and that it is quite normal for humans to react or respond in certain ways to events, is as important as carrying out relevant treatments.

Quantum Medicine Creates. It does not Stagnate:

Quantum Medicine does not need or use diagnoses. By labelling and diagnosing we create an energy, a vibration of what we are, e.g. this is the reason for me being in such a way, this then can become an excuse for certain feelings and behaviour. So by using the diagnosis you focus on what you do not have, you focus on the absence of health through the presence of illness in the form of this diagnosis.

Diagnosis is an anchor; it’s not a sail that can take you wherever you want to go, like the Harbour of Good Health for example. The anchor weighs you down and makes you stuck, immobile, stuck on the waves of woe! Reality is constantly moving, if you are not moving and are anchored, then you stay where you became stuck, i.e. if you were well, then got sick, then anchor in the diagnosis of being sick you will stay moored in sickness, as opposed to being like reality and moving into wellness.

It’s not to say your reality is not true, it is not to say the pain and feelings don’t exist - of course they do. But you can choose to say “I am worthless and would be better off dead, I have depression” or you could choose to say “right now my feelings are showing me that my life is not what I want, therefore I am going to work out what I do want, and then work out how to achieve it”. Reality is not a static diagnosis; it is a living breathing thing that can change in any given moment.

There is no such thing as mental or even physical illness, there are just a periods in your life when you are not feeling your best, when you are at dis-ease, when you are adopting some poor coping mechanisms or creating a poor environment for yourself, and your feelings are signals telling you this and that you need to make some positive changes.

The Quantum Medical Institute

The Quantum Medical Institute (QMI) trains Quantum Physicians in the basic belief that human beings have the capacity to fix all dis-ease within themselves when applying the appropriate therapy, or changing their environment, (which could be changing their diet, their thoughts etc, as much as an active form of therapeutic care as provided by someone one else). Quantum Medicine is underpinned by the work of many people, including chiefly the work of Bruce Lipton and neuroplastician’s that acknowledges the healing and regenerative power of the brain and the body when appropriately stimulated and nurtured.

Instead of trying to remove the placebo affect, Quantum Medicine embraces the placebo and uses it to assist people in strengthening and speeding up their healing.

Medicine has become to be delivered through habit, through the subconscious (that most people operate from 95% of the time and doctors are not excluded from this), doctors are not ‘being’ with their patients, that means they are switching to a programme of treatment regardless of its relevance or effectiveness. As there is no presence, there is not a full observation, so things get missed and illness persists, repeats and people revolve in and out of the healthcare system. Breath touch and intimacy (energy) affect perception and can therefore be used to bring presence so physicians can “be” with the people they are trying to help. Quantum Physicians are trained first in using breath, touch and intimacy at the Quantum Medical Institute to engage with the healee before developing other skills and knowledge. Each programme of learning has these three core skills interwoven to their curriculum. They are also taught and encouraged how to be in Agape love (that is love for all things without sexual or romantic implications) through all their interactions with others when healing, and that fostering an atmosphere of love is part of the healing process as much as any other treatment applied or advise given.

Quantum Physicians do not diagnose; they are there to be present with the person who has come for help. They attend to their needs through gaining a deep and intimate understanding of the person and what has led them to dis-ease. By doing so they can therefore ensure they apply appropriate treatment methods that will create and facilitate sustainable and effective healing on all levels of being. It is true holistic care without judgement or prescription. Quantum Medicine is a relationship between healer and healee, and it is the attraction and management of energy and matter between the person and the universe in order to manifest the goal of the person.

Sample Quantum Medical Consultation:

The Healee describes problem and what they are looking for from the healer.

The Healer ensures information is gathered on the following;

®     Current physical sensations, including description, frequency, onset and identified triggers.

®     Previous period of un-wellness and dis-ease including description, frequency, onset and identified triggers.

®     Parents’ of the healee behaviour, personalities, attitudes, health and beliefs.

®     Current lifestyle; work, family, friends, social interests, hobbies, sleep, diet, exercise, mental stimulation, amount of time in front of TV, computer, listening to radio, reading newspaper and magazines.

®     How do they see the world, what their perceptions are (are they a victim? do they focus on what they do have or what they don’t have? etc)?

®     Favourite movies, books, TV shows artists, music.

®     Preferred learning methods – audio, visual, 3D, tactile, olfactory.

®     Personal relationships: behaviour, personalities, attitudes and beliefs of partners, friends, family.

®     Education, political, religious and cultural influences.

®     Current & past thought patterns (tuned into using meditation, hypnosis and mindfulness).

All this information is gathered, life mapped, and used to create a picture of exactly what the healee is living, their past and present influences, and only then is an appropriate treatment plan created in partnership with the healee to facilitate inward environmental changes (i.e. thought patterns, belief, perceptions etc.), and outward environmental changes (diet, lifestyle, sleep, exercise etc) using relevant therapeutic treatments and/or education.

Preventative Work includes:

Workshops on the following topics are continually available for anyone to undertake at the QMI in order to be able to; better understand themselves as a human being; what human behaviour is; what a human response to a given situation is; how to handle life adaptively, positively and constructively; how to perform self healing and help heal others; and learn how to manage and guide themselves better on their path/journey here on Earth. The workshops are also run through schools in an appropriate form for children and teenagers.

  • Engage yourself, Engage Life- How to be Human
  • Working Positively with Stress & How to Handle Addictive Behaviours
  • Getting the Balance of Life Right - Wellness on all 4 levels of being
  • Creating Authentic Relationships & Clear Communication
  • Eat 4 Life
  • Developing Your Intuition
  • Self-help energetic healings like: Reiki, EFT, Self-hypnosis
  • Meditation & Mindfulness

Sample QMI Study Course

The 1st year of the Quantum Medical Institute studies consists of basic communication and relationship skills and the sciences which educate you about body, mind and soul functions, powers and possibilities. Courses include:

  • The understanding of the nature and behaviour of physical (matter) and energetic influences on human beings at the level of the ‘mind’ and at the cellular level, which result in experiences of either ease or dis-ease.
  • Intimacy Medicine – breath, touch and intimacy their roles, influence and power in terms of healing, includes self exploration and development.
  • Agape Love – definition, use and opening of the self to achieve such a state.
  • Creating Authentic Relationships – how to create, conduct and maintain meaningful relationship without possession, attachment and expectation.
  • Clear Communication – understanding the anatomy of communication, how it can be used and misused, development of skills as communicator, verbally, non-verbally and energetically.
  • Understanding the 4 levels of human beings; physical psychological/mental, emotional and spiritual.
  • Biology of Belief – Biochemistry, the science of the chemistry of the cells, tissue, and organs of the body, (grounded in Bruce Lipton’s work), including histology and embryology.
  • Neuroplasticity & Physiology– the idea that the brain is plastic and therefore changeable according to the presentation and form of certain stimuli, in relation to the science of the function of the body and its parts (and the biological, chemical and physical steps involved).
  • Existence Medicine and the role of awareness, unawareness (ego consciousness) in health and healing.
  • Anatomy & Spirituality & Neuroanatomy - the science of the structure of the body, mind and soul and the relations of its parts (especially those that can be seen with the naked eye).
  • Hormones, their roles, influences and factors effecting their production and function.
  • Essential Human Psychology and its relation to healing.
  • Using the conscious mind to heal the subconscious mind.
  • Preventative Quantum Medicine – the understanding and facilitation of healthy lifestyles, thought systems and beliefs, regular energy healings (like Reiki), the creation of positive subconscious programming to increase health and wellbeing.
  • The Law of Attraction.
  • Intuitive Psychic Language & Healing
  • Self-care for physicians.

In the 2nd & 3rd years of QMI studies place more emphasis on the creation of dis-ease and its remedies and the prevention of repeat behaviour. Courses in the 2nd & 3rd years provide an overview including the foundations, principles, the science, etc., but do not necessarily go in depth, (areas students wish to explore deeper can be elected in 4th and 5th years of study). Topics include:

  • The 4 Levels of human beings, (physical psychological/mental, emotional and spiritual) and how dis-ease can occur on any level and interact and impact with other levels of wellbeing.
  • Caring for the 4 Levels of being – essentials and basic care required to maintain and create holistic equilibrium.
  • The impact and influences of energy and matter on the human being from early cell formation in-utero to older age and past-life.
  • Pathology - the science and spirituality (energy) of dis-ease, especially the changes in structure and function causing or caused by dis-ease. The emotional basis of disease.
  • Energetic Healing Methods.
  • Quantum Healing.
  • Environmental cures for dis-ease.
  • Neural Re-programming.
  • Visceral Healing
  • Eastern & Ancient Healing methods.
  • Placebo and Nocebo effects, their potential for healing and harm and how to harness the positive power of each.
  • Pharmacology - the science of medications, their potential, limits, side-effects and short comings.
  • Microbiology - the science of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
  • Immunology - the science of how humans fight disease and how humans can enhance, control and maintain their own immune system through diet, thought patterns, belief and paradigms of behaviour.

During the 2nd & 3rd years QMI students also take courses that introduce them to creating a quantum medical assessment and response plan for healing, as well as continuing to develop their relationships, communication and intimacy skills.

In the 4th year, QMI students begin rotating through a selection of healing modalities, (time limits and the number of modalities selected will apply to ensure comprehensive learning); such as; Chinese medicine, Western medical practices, Neuroplasticity, Naturopathy, Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Psychology, Spiritual healing, Energy healings (e.g. Reiki, EFT, Prana, Theta healing), Hypnosis, Ayurvedic medicine, Radionics, Tantra, Forensic healing, Massage therapy, Visceral healing, Preventative Medicine, Yoga therapy, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Pharmaceutical healing, etc.

In the 5th year more practical rotations with a higher level of responsibility are completed, in addition to electives. All QMI students will undertake a residency (a training period -- sort of an apprenticeship) after a the 5th year, regardless of whether they chose to remain as a general Quantum Physician or specialise in one or more areas of healing, with continuing assessments of competency, (including their own self-care).
